Programmable electronic timer

The programmable electronic timer (code VE016-10) evolution of the timer (code VE001-11) is a digital type electronic timer useful for timing electronic and electrical loads of various kinds.

 

The small size and reduced components "to the bone" reduce the failure factor and facilitate installation in small spaces.

The 4-position selector allows you to choose four different timing functions.

It is possible to choose the type of timer according to the required use, version with counting of 0-99 minutes (with increment in steps of second by second) or 0-99 hours (with increment in steps of minute by minute).

METHOD OF USE

By means of the 4-position selector it is possible to select the desired type of operation:

  • Classic timer, with RELE1 active for the entire countdown time -  (position 1);

  • Timer with RELE1 activation only at the end of the count -  (position 2);

  • Continuous cyclic timer, with RELE1 and RELE2 active alternately and continuously -  (position 3);

  • Double timer with RELE1 and RELE2 active in succession for the set time -  (position 4).

OPERATION

CLASSIC TIMER:

​Using the timer:

  • Power the circuit through the power input, using a voltage of 12Vdc;

  • The previously stored time is shown on the display (at the first start-up the module displays 00:00);

  • Use the + and - buttons respectively to increase or decrease the desired time, a prolonged pressure increases the time more quickly until reaching the maximum time of 99 minutes / hours (in less than 3 minutes);

  • Use the S / S (start / stop) button to start / stop the count.

 

When the timer has started, the user is notified by LEDs T1 and R1, the first indicates the start of Time1 and the second the activation of Relay1.

Storing and restoring the desired time:

  • Time memorization on EEPROM: The time is memorized automatically at each setting;

  • Restoring the time stored on the EEPROM: Press the R key;

  • Resetting the value shown on the display: Press and hold the R key for more than 3 seconds.

 

TIMER WITH ACTIVATION AT THE END:

The operation of the timer with activation of RELE1 at the end of the countdown is similar to the operation of the classic timer, it differs only in the activation of the relay which occurs at the end of the count; LED T1 notifies the user of the start of the countdown.

At the end of the count, LED R1 notifies the user that the relay has been energized and the buzzer emits an audible note at 5-second intervals; to reset the timer, press the S / S (start / stop) key.

CONTINUOUS CYCLIC TIMER:

Using the timer:

  • Power the circuit through the power input, using a voltage of 12Vdc;

  • The previously stored time is shown on the display (at the first start-up the module displays 00:00);

  • Press the R key to enter the 2 times setting mode, at the first pressure the led T1 starts flashing with a frequency of 10ms, in this condition it is possible to use the + and - keys to set the time relating to RELE1; press the R key again to move on to setting the time relating to RELE2, LED T2 starts flashing with a frequency of 10ms; pressing the R key again exits the timer from the setting mode.

  • Use the S / S (start / stop) button to start / stop the count.

 

When the timer has started, the user is notified by LEDs T1, R1, T2 and R2, the first indicates the start of Time1, the second the activation of Relay1, the third the start of Timer2 and the fourth the activation of the Relay2.

The timer continuously alternates the two times up to the Stop (S / S key) given by the user.

Storing and restoring the desired time:

  • Time memorization on EEPROM: The time is memorized automatically at each setting;

  • Resetting the time stored on EEPROM: The time is reset each time the timer is stopped;

  • Resetting the value shown on the display: Press and hold the R key for more than 3 seconds.

 

DOUBLE TIMER:

Using the timer:

  • Power the circuit through the power input, using a voltage between 8 and 14Vdc;

  • The previously stored time is shown on the display (at the first start-up the module displays 00:00);

  • Press the R key to enter the 2 times setting mode, at the first pressure the led T1 starts flashing with a frequency of 10ms, in this condition it is possible to use the + and - keys to set the time relating to RELE1; press the R key again to move on to setting the time relating to RELE2, LED T2 starts flashing at a rate of 10ms; pressing the R key again exits the timer from the setting mode.

  • Use the S / S (start / stop) button to start / stop the count.

 

When the timer has started, the user is notified by LEDs T1, R1, T2 and R2, the first indicates the start of Time1, the second the activation of Relay1, the third the start of Timer2 and the fourth the activation of the Relay2.

The timer alternates the two times in succession until both times have expired, first time1 and then time2; when the user is notified, the buzzer emits a sound every 5 seconds.

Storing and restoring the desired time:

  • Time memorization on EEPROM: The time is memorized automatically at each setting;

  • Resetting the time stored on the EEPROM: The time is reset when the two times have elapsed or whenever the timer is stopped;

  • Resetting the value shown on the display: Press and hold the R key for more than 3 seconds.
